International Conference: How to speak about the Righteous?

We invite you to the International Conference ‘How to speak about the Righteous?’ on June 25-27, 2019 in Markowa and Rzeszów (Poland).

Our guests will focus their topics on the education about the Righteous Among the Nations. They will try to answer the question: How to present and popularize issues related to those who, during the Holocaust, decided to help persecuted Jews, often endangering their own lives, lives of their loved ones, neighbours and friends? At the same time, during the discussion,  let’s  not forget about balancing the narrative, not to bring it down to a hermetic statement of facts, avoiding social analogies, or to a moralizing activism, neglecting the historic value.

About this and more issues, you be able to listen during three panels:

-The Righteous. Between Memory and Remembrance

-The Righteous. Different ways of telling their stories

-The Righteous. Education and today’s social commitment

Before we will meet at conference, you’ll be able to visit the exhibition ‘Between Life and Death. Stories of Rescue during the Holocaust’ in Markowa, prepared by European Network Remembrance and Solidarity, Polin Museum of the History of Polish Jews and Silent Heroes Memorial Center.

-The Righteous. Between Memory and Remembrance

-The Righteous. Different ways of telling their stories

-The Righteous. Education and today’s social commitment

Przed konferencją będzie można zwiedzić wystawę „Między życiem a śmiercią. Historie pomocy w czasie Holokaustu” w Markowej, przygotowaną przez Europejską Sieć Pamięć i Solidarność, Muzeum Historii Żydów Polskich POLIN i Centrum Pamięci Silent Heroes.

Uwaga! Aby wziąć udział w konferencji, konieczna jest wcześniejsza rejestracja:
